Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) is a versatile polymer which allows to offer high performance products, where the following requirements are met:
- Very good resistance to cleaning systems, easy to clean.
- Production consistency.
- Long service life, even with mechanical wear and tear usings scrapers and cutting devices.
- Excellent tolerance to high and low temperatures.
- Very low degree of cracking and perforations.
This makes TPU the polymer of choice for added value products such as high end flexible conveyor belts for food transportation.
The addition of a Microltix® anti-microbial masterbatch inside the TPU polymer ensures a constant protection of the belt to the growth of microbes using a bacteriostatic technology, while fully complying with EU and FDA direct food contact requirements. The efficacy of the anti-microbial bacteriostatic effect will last beyond the useful life of the belt itself.
The Microltix® Anti-microbial masterbatch will prevent bacterial build-up and therefore help to prevent product recalls.
