Creating healthy environments

microdetector bacteria yeast fungi microlitix

MicroDetector is a unique product for detecting biofilms on surfaces. It is suitable for the food, pharmaceutical, hospitality, shipping, health and cosmetic industries.

It is a valuable tool for hygiene control. Rapid and continuous control of biofilm formation on surfaces and adequate cleaning and prevention using Microlitix® products will significantly minimize risks. MicroDetector will detect bacteria, yeast and fungi. This product does not contain surfactants or gelling substances and guarantees maximum adhesion to vertical and flat surfaces.

Characteristics

  • Will detect a colony of microorganisms that are attached to surfaces known as Biofilms.
  • The detection is instantaneous and visible in case of a positive reaction. Foaming caused by the microorganism is an indication of a positive result i.e. presence of microorganisms on the surface.
  • It is safe for the environment according to current legislation.
  • Has been tested on many bacterial species that can affect food safety: Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella spp. Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Will also detect Pseudomonas spp. which may cause food spoilage and thus affecting the shelf life of food products.
  • No technical training is required for handling and identification of biofilms.
  • Does not stain.

Applications

  • Food handling surfaces: conveyor belts, side barriers, floors, machine equipment, drainage equipment.
  • Shipping: water tank storage systems, kitchens and bathrooms, food cargo hold.
  • Pharma: all surfaces within pharmaceutical production facilities that may be susceptible to biofilm growth, transmission and cross-contamination.
  • Cosmetics: surfaces within cosmetic production facilities may be susceptible to biofilm growth, transmission and cross contamination. Beauty salons have many surfaces that can benefit from rapid detection such as countertops, which have shared contact surfaces amongst customers.
  • Paint manufacturing facilities where biofilm free storage of raw materials and handling must be maintained to avoid bacterial spoilage. Raw materials with almost neutral pH range are susceptible to biofilm growth.
